No, this will not be about Disney Princesses.
For newcomers, and people who wouldn’t have figured, I live in Montréal, Québec, Canada.

Like most Canadians, snow is one of my main hobbies. I love to shovel it, make snow angels, snowmen, throw myself down hills, and enjoy skating outdoors.
No, I don’t.
Snow is beautiful, I particularly enjoy watching it from inside my apartment… wrapped in a blanket… with a cup of tea or hot chocolate in my hands.
But I know some of you, who don’t get to experience snow in your own countries, kind of envy us Canadians. I understand that (no… I don’t! LOL)
So here are a few pictures of today’s first real snowfall in Montréal.

And finally, just to prove my point that snow is not always just about fun (then again…. LOL), here is a short video that shows the bitter side of snow! Yeah Ben, I’m sure you’ll feel all the bitter thoughts of the drivers that got caught in this pileup last winter!
It’s pretty. I’m glad for a dry season on the west coast so far. Having grown up in New England I may have filled my life’s snow quota.

Hahahaha if we have a life’s quota, I’m filling in for a couple of persons I think.

I became cold just looking at those pretty pictures..then I watched your short video. I think the moral of that video is this : Never ride a bus in winter in Montreal! lol

LOL I looooove this video… The city workers usually are quick to take care of critical streets like this one, but that particular day, somebody failed miserably! My favorite part is when the salt and sand spreader goes downhill spinning… LOL LOL LOL

Very pretty. But so glad we hardly ever get snow here.

🙂 Cool, That’s a part of France I never had the chance to visit yet… I had a boyfriend who lived in Annecy, and one near Metz… I mostly traveled along the South border, and in the Eastern part of the country…

New and untouched snow are beautiful, Cyranny 🙂
I do enjoy not to have snow, where I now live in Spain. I did have the first years here.

I lived 5 years without it, and I was missing it dearly after the first snow-free winter. I guess I just like to complain about it, for the fun of it… It is just beautiful, you are right, and when you are dressed appropriately, it’s nice to walk in a snowy park 🙂

I love snow,I know its a pain to get around when there is a lot of snow about but I still love it.I’m even happy to do an hours trek in the snow to get to work rather than let hubby take the car out….done it a few times lol but that was about 7 years ago when we had snow all winter long a very rare thing.Normally we are lucky if we get a dusting and then its gone with in a few mins of stopping ,xx Rachel

🙂 If only there was a way to select where snow falls… Like, some magic device that would keep it from falling on streets, sidewalks and stairs… I’d like it much better LOL It is really the shoveling that takes the fun out of it for me 😉
I’ll keep my fingers crossed so you can get more than a dusting this winter 🙂 xx

we literally need a slight dusting and the whole of England goes mad, it is actually very funny when it does. Scotland look down and are just like its bloody snow, man up

Ok, you really made burst out laughing here… 🙂 Thanks for the good giggles!
And in the meanwhile in Canada, children still walk to school, even if they have snow up to their armpits!!

No, in England, especially the south, if it snows, the schools shut down and everyone takes the day off work. The North of England and Scotland, chuck on their shorts and T-shirts and walk to where ever they are going, while tweeting how soft we southerners are..
Although this could just be my friends and family who mock me

I did a quick research on your blog, but I didn’t see any post tagged “Calgary”… did you publish your pictures? I am curious 🙂 I have never been there, I would have enjoyed seeing them!

Omg, that video is scarey. I think snow is pretty, makes great pics but I’d rather visit it than live in it. (I live in the Arizona, a desert region in USA–We hit a high of 93F/33.88C today which is very unusual for this time of year even for us )

Wow, Arizona… that’s quite a contrast compared to here!!
Warm (LOL) welcome to The Cove 🙂 I hope to see you around again soon!
