Like most of us, you’re practicing self-isolation and respecting the #StayHome government request?
Social distancing is the best way to stay safe and save other lives, but it can get boring really fast. The situation is stressful, and watching the news, day after day, as things get worse all around the globe can cause much anxiety, if not depression.
But we don’t have to let that affect us without fighting back, in a positive way. On April 1st (not an April fools prank) I invited you all to join me for a dance, to shake the Corona-blues off, and put a smile on your face!
At the given time, I put the song on, and danced in my bedroom, not sure if anyone would join me. I knew I’d feel good wiggling around, but I was surprised to see how 5 minutes of intense dancing started my day in a much better way than the previous.
So, with this in mind, I decided to keep the danceathon going, for as long as I’ll stay home. I won’t post about it daily in The Cove, but I’ll add the song of the day in this page every morning, and I’ll come and to say a little ”Hi” in the comments before and after every dancing time!
How can you join in? Easy!
- Come to this page to check out the song of the day.
- I’ll be dancing at 10 am and 10 pm, Montréal time. Pick your favorite timing or attend both. (there’s no such thing, as too much fun, right??) Here’s an easy time converter, if not too familiar with time zones… Still not sure about the time, send me a message, and I’ll help you out!
- At given time, play the song and have a good time. No need to worry about your dancing skills, nobody’s watching…
- Let us know if you enjoyed yourself, in the comments below. And if you really liked it, share this page with your friends, to invite them to join in! The more, the merrier.
Oh, and if you have songs you’d like us to dance to, link them in the comment box, I am open to your suggestions, and I’ll gladly shake my bon-bon to your favorite tune!
Ready? Set? Go!! Here’s your playlist:
Because being ”stuck” at home doesn’t mean you can’t be happy!
My pick, just because the ”feeling” is simply contagious!
A little memory from my trip to Cuba, years ago…
Thank you Anne, for the suggestion!
