Was it when I saw her
with someone else,
not me
Was it that dress, she wore
the one when she danced
it made me crazy with desire
it did,
Was it the sunrise, the sunset
watching it, oohing and aahing
holding hands, each other close
closer,
Was it the roses
I lay upon the bed,
the first one, I gave her
all the years we’ve been
together
Was it her lips
painted to kill
luring me, seducing
trapped was I
lovingly trapped,
When I saw red
her cheeks rosy, lighting
up her smile, her lips
when the sun shone, when
we danced together
when she laughed, when I
jealous was, punching out
my imagined rival
When I saw red
when I saw her….
