Unbreakable smile…

They can think whatever they want. They can judge me as much as they please… Ultimately, I am the only one holding the truth, all the truth and nothing but the truth about me. I built myself, I stumbled on the way… I leaned on amazing people to stand tall, and I had my times of loneliness…

I’ve lived a long time, with clenched teeth. It took me a while to let the sunshine in again… So now, though I still sometimes hurt and fail, like anyone, I know how strong is the woman that I’ve become.

They can laugh all they want, and point fingers, be mean and vile… When I put it on, no one can take away my unbreakable smile!

  3. Lovely choice for day 5! Your poem has the same vibe/feeling as the Tori Kelly song. I’m going to be posting Day 2 today holegukly 3 too. i got behind with OctPoWriMo just finishing the last two days yesterday’s. I’m excited these music prompts give you a choice between poetry and prose and I love that I’m learning about new songs that do far, are all great! Some I know but not all. Looking forward to reading more of yours.

    1. I love this challenge too, because it is so inspiring… So far, I didn’t know any of the songs, this year, but I loved them all! I think I am bending the rules a tad by adding some fiction stories sometimes, instead of poetry, but I can’t help it, I just can’t control what will come out of my daily listening 😛

      I’m glad you are joining in, and I’ll make sure to come by and read your pieces 🙂 🙂 🙂 Take your time, there is no rush… It’s all about fun, so just post when it is good for you 🙂 xx
