Radioactive…

I really like good biographical movies. Especially when I know just enough about the person’s life to get interested, but not enough to see things coming… I had been waiting for Radioactive for awhile, and this afternoon seemed fit to watch it, wrapped in my favorite blanket. Based on the novel Radioactive: Marie & Pierre…… Continue reading Radioactive…

Little bird…

. Little bird, You flew so high, Your pointy beak Almost pierced the sky… But it was dangerous, That you didn’t know. As, little bird, you just flew With the flow. So you reached higher And burnt your wings, Your frail body Unexpectedly falling… They picked you up Put you in a cage, For once…… Continue reading Little bird…

100 little things…

The Danish flag is also called ”Dannebrog” (Litterally Danish cloth). Legends say that the flag fell from the sky during a bloody battle, and that it changed King Valdemar II’s luck, who finally won the fight. True or not, the Dannebrog is considered to be the first official national flag. (Yay Denmark!!) The white…… Continue reading 100 little things…

Remembering…

Québec’s motto is ”Je me souviens” (I remember), and it probably has nothing to do with the short sentence written on our license plates, but I strongly believe that the best way to avoid repeating Man’s worst mistake is to remember where we went the wrong way, in the past. Most people would probably agree…… Continue reading Remembering…

Unwritten…

They say history gets written by the winners… Well, looking back, I still have this unsteady flame of hope burning, and I silently pray to see that white flag, flying like a dove. This war, between us, was a mistake from day one. You didn’t win this, nor did I. So who’ll write…… Continue reading Unwritten…

Polytechnique… (December 6th FFF)

I was invited (well, not personally, but still…) to join the Fandango’s Friday Flashback! Fandango scrolls back, every Friday, and gives a second chance to a post he had published on the same date the year before. I thought it was a great way to remember some of the stuff I did a while back, and I decided to participate… So…… Continue reading Polytechnique… (December 6th FFF)

Chernobyl…

Sometimes I can appear a bit weird or gore in my interests… For one thing, I like to read about serial killers. I obviously don’t find these people ”cool”. I don’t find what they did ”cool”. And although I know I’ll never understand, I am interested in trying to get what makes some people act…… Continue reading Chernobyl…

I can hardly believe…

Just six months ago, I was walking in and around Notre-Dame de Paris Cathedral. And when I learnt that it was burning down, this afternoon, I just couldn’t believe it. I never thought I would outlive the more than 800 years old cathedral as we used to know it… A sad day for history.…… Continue reading I can hardly believe…

A little piece of history…

Danish history, that is. For Christmas, I got something that wouldn’t interest 99,9% of people. But to me, it is a real little treasure. On June 10th of 1967, Queen Margrethe II and Prince Henrik got married in Denmark. Commemorative spoons were made for the occasion.     My precious!
