Kickin’ covers…

Hey there, Lovelies,

As you might have read in my latest Cyranny’s jukebox post, I recently came across a long series of very popular song covers, that Damien Robitaille, a French Canadian professional singer, has been posting online since the beginning of the pandemic (you can find him on Instagram @damienrobitaille).

The guy is talented, and that’s an understatement. And when covid-19’s first wave sent us all into lockdown, Damien decided to set an improvised studio in his kitchen and record his version of big hits (aswell as a couple of songs of his own) to entertain his fans.

I admit it took one of his songs going viral (thank you Jennifer Garner!) for me to notice the many many videos online (about 145 of them so far), but I decided to repost my favorite covers, every other day,  to (hopefully) put a smile on your face just as it puts one one mine.

Tomorrow, our government will announce drastic measures, here in Québec. A lot of information has already leaked in the news, and we’re apparently heading for total lockdown with a nice curfew topping. In all honesty, the curfew wouldn’t really impact my everyday life, but, it would mean the company I work for would have to close around 8 PM, as opposed to being open until midnight. And that would mean almost certainly getting a cut back on my working hours. And therefor, a considerable cut back on my income. And that’s if we get to remain open (because the government forced the company to completely close down during the first wave).

But we’ll only know tomorrow evening, and in the meanwhile, what’s the use in worrying about what might or might not happen, right? So I’ll have a glass of red wine (unfortunately not Pinot Noir, but hey! I’m not very picky lately… LOL) and enjoy Damien’s cover of ”What a wonderful world” a couple of times. Who knows? I just might get surprised in a good way, after all.

Until then, here’s Damien…

I hope you’ll enjoy it.

  1. We have been in lockdown since November and while it is wearing I would rather do this than the alternative. Although I am not really a social person in real life lol whereas in the blog and messaging I am the life of the party even when sober. Turns out I really am funny it is not just the alcohol talking ha ha ha ha ha…..something about my delivery I suppose. I am looking forward to the day that at least some of these restrictions ease. Such as being allowed to have company (wink wink nudge nudge lol) Tember hugs well but still. Have a wonderful day Cranny. 🙂

    1. Québec’s rules have been changing every other day, but we’re officially back to an almost total lockdown starting Saturday. With the extra 8 PM to 5 AM curfew that will make it special. As I said, it won’t change I and Chéri’s lives much since we’ve confined ourselves for the past 10 months, but still… I’m just scared it will have an impact on our income. But we’ll make the best out of it, no doubt about that.

You are quite an entertainer… and we really would like to welcome you again for Skypy Fridays! Join in, when you’ll feel comfortable with the idea 🙂 You’re fun and bubbly, and we need that 🙂 Love ya! xx

      1. Thank you so much! 😘😘😘😘 I am really shy in rl when not in my public persona but I am on holidays this week and so am going to make every effort to join in. Would you please send me a reminder tomorrow? Or a poke? Ans is it 5 my time or yours? Lol Do you and Cherie not work essential services? Despite our lockdown there are still too many people out and about. And now the cases are beginning to rise due to the holidays. Numbers came down also as people did not get tested over the holiday. It remains to see what will happen. Tomorrow new easement of restrictions could happen or further lockdown we will see. At least our weather is awesome!!!!!!-
