I know I have already posted this song before, but Fandango chose Partisan as his word of the day prompt. So, well… Yeah. I didn’t have much of a choice, did I?
Originally La Complainte du Partisan, the song is about the French resistance, during World War II. Made popular by my very dear Leonard Cohen, many covers were made by a variety of artists over the years. And I thought I’d share some versions in different languages. The list is probably not exhaustive, but it’s already long, if you ask me (I wish I had found a Danish version, unfortunately, I think it doesn’t exist just yet).
Of course, Leonard’s version… *sigh*
Swedish version
Italian version
Croatian version
Dutch version
Serbian version
Polish version
German version
Spanish version
Nahuatl version
Last and not least, a beautiful version in both German, English and French.

Love Leonard Cohen so much–what an incredible talent.
