Canada · Denmark · Me myself and I

Waiting for the mailman…

Looking out the window, febrile as a child.

I have an envelope on its way from Denmark, and that is always exciting. Like yesterday and the day before, I wait in the living room until I hear the mailman’s vehicule getting parked in front of my apartment for our street’s daily delivery. It seems he takes more time than usual preparing his bag. Maybe he has noticed me peaking out the second floor window, hoping today’s the day.

But that’s ok with me, be as careful as you can sir. Double check your bag, triple check it if necessary, but don’t forget my letter in you little truck. Don’t drop it between the seats! You can even bring me bills, I’ll take it with a smile if my envelope has arrived! Handle it with care please, it has travelled a long way!

The mailman locks the doors and walks away… I get all fingers and toes crossed to find my special delivery in the mailbox when I go downstairs to brave the frosty morning coldness of March.
