It has been a while, since I last got a nomination for a blogging award. I know that a lot of people prefer to keep their blogs ”Award free” these days, for various reason… They don’t like the awards, or they don’t have time for them. Either way, I understand that they are not everybody’s ”thing”.
I like awards. I appreciate when people nominate me, and unless I am incredibly busy, I always try to give the award forward!
Suzanne, my good friend from My Dang Blog chose me as one of her nominees, for the Golden Bloggerz Award! If you don’t know Suzanne already, I strongly recommend visiting her. This lady is an established writer, and shares bits and pieces of her everyday life on her blog, weekly. She always makes sure to sprinkle some of her amazing humor here and there, and her posts are never disappointing! If you like good Sunday morning giggles, My Dang Blog’s the place to go!
Thank you, Suzune!

Okie, three things about me…
I learnt to ride a motorcycle before I could ride a simple bicycle. My father was convinced I would be a little boy, and had bought me a 50 cc motocross before my birth, and installed side wheels to it. So at the age of two, I was already following Dad to the sand pit, to the teenagers’ surprise! (Look at that little guy, isn’t he cute… Wait! What?? It’s a girl???)
I can’t throw away Freja’s whiskers, when I find one on the floor. I know they aren’t worth anything, but I just get the feeling that they are a sign of good luck. I usually put them in my wallet, and I have quite a few in there. (No, I am not going to count them!)
I chose my own name. As mentionned in my first fact, my parents were expecting a little boy. So they had only prepared boys’ names. A couple of day after my birth, Mom and her mother were discussing girls’ names, and when they came up with mine, I reacted. And that how things were settled. Or so I was told, I don’t really remember, hehehehe.
Now, Suzane’s questions:
What’s your favourite photograph?
This is definately a toughie… My favorite photograph? As in, all-time favorite picture? Wow. I’ll consider only my pictures (because if I have to think about all the amazing photographers I know, we’ll get stuck here all night). Even then, I take so many pictures, it is almost impossible to have a favorite.
But I have one that has a cool story (I think). Back in the late nineties, I used to volunteer for Trois-Rivières Grand Prix (not F1, but just a step below). Working the early mornings, I was allowed to go where ever I wished, in the paddocks the rest of the day. I always picked an underdog driver and followed his races. It was more fun that way, because I didn’t have to wait in a long queue at the end of the race to have a chat.
So that summer, I was following a Japanese driver, Hideki Noda. We had chatted a couple of times during the qualifications, and I was at the starting line, waiting for the beginning of the race. There was a slight delay, and I noticed that one of the drivers was getting out of his car, and running to the toilet booth, next to the gate. It was Hideki, and when he spotted me in the crowd, camera in hand, he stopped, so I could take a picture of him in his racing suit. I thought that was incredibly cool of him.
And the photo was a-ma-zing. (side note, I just discovered that Hikeki’s daughter, Juju, was supposed to race in Denmark in 2020. At the age of 14, she’s a F4 racer. Wow!)
So many pictures
In my mind, I can’t decide
Which one is the best!
How long can you go without blinking?
Aaarrrghhhhh! I’ve been timing myself all afternoon, and I can’t seem to make it past 20 seconds. But I am convinced that it’s just because I know that I am not supposed to blink. This is sooo annoying! I can definately keep my eyes open longer than that. Evil woman!! (Of course, I had to Google what the world record is… An hour, seventeen minutes and three seconds. *sigh*)
An afternoon lost
Fighting the eye blinking urge,
Now I know, I suck!
On a scale of 1 to 5, how superstitious are YOU?
Although I don’t really believe in all this superstition stuff, I must say that I am probably a good 4. It is incredible, the amount of little things I do out of superstition. Why keep doing them, if I don’t really believe? Well, I am not self confident enough to claim that this or that little thing doesn’t bring luck… So, why not take the chance that it might? LOL
I don’t really believe them,
Why not take a chance…
Flowers or chocolate?
Definately flowers. I love getting flowers. I like chocolate, but I don’t eat a lot of it, so they just sit there, waiting. Seriously, it takes dang good chocolate for me to empty the box over a reasonable amount of time.
Flowers or candy?
I guess I am sweet enough,
I’ll take the bouquet!
Where’s the first place you’ll go once the pandemic is over?
Out. Mouahahahhahaha You want a more precise answer? My parents’ house, for sure. And I also can’t wait to go to a store, and not be worried the whole time. I wonder what my supermarket looks like too, I haven’t been there in over a year. And ultimately, when we get to travel safely again, of course, I want to go back to Denmark!
Once this is over
I’ll go where ever my feet
Decide to take me.
Now, my questions;
Where do you find your inspiration?
Is there something you still prefer to do the good ol’ way, even if technology has evolved?
Would you rather be allowed to go where ever you want, but never leave your home country, or be allowed to travel anywhere in the world, but never be allowed back in your own country?
What day of your life would you like to be able to re-live whenever you wished to?
When you get up, do you need time to slowly awaken, or are you in a good mood as soon as you spring out of bed?
And last, but not least… My lovely nominees! (Feel free to take the award for yourself, if you feel like playing along, even if you are not in my list!) There is (almost) no particular order.
Again… Thank you, Suzanne for the nomination. Sending big hugs over the border 🙂
P.S. I’m waiting for the bonus points for the haikus! LOL
