“If you have a dream” – Day 1 of the Quote Challenge

First and foremost, I’d like to thank Dee, from Grateful Single Moms,  for inviting me to participate in the 3 day quote challenge.  This looks like fun, and it might help get my blogging mojo back! (LOL)

 

Rules of the Challenge:

  • Thank the person who nominated you.
  • Post a quote for three consecutive days (1 quote for each day).
  • Share why this quote appeals so much to you.
  • Nominate 3 different bloggers for each day.

 

So my first quote du jour is the following;

 

If you have a dream, you have a duty, a responsability to yourself to make it happen… Because if you don’t, you’re just a dreamer!

I remember watching Marco tell this to the Masterchef Australia contestants a couple of years back. For some reason, it really spoke to me, and I never forgot the quote.

I am kind of allergic to people who think others around them are “lucky”…  I don’t like people telling me how lucky I am for having done this or that, or for having gone there or there. I don’t envy others in that way either. Most people have what they have because they worked hard to get it. (I know there are some exceptions, and I know how annoying those can be… LOL)

The point being… If you do have a dream, work to get it for yourself! It might be difficult, and you might not get what you aim for fast, but it is so rewarding to go for your dreams!

And if you don’t, and decide to just be a dreamer, enjoy the day-dreaming, and don’t self pity yourself please… And don’t come whining that I realized some of my dreams and you never did!

  1. I love it!!! I truly believe we are our own “luck”…That “good” things happen because we make them happen, because we are watching for them, because we choose to see “good” instead of bad. This quote speaks to me of all this. ❤️

    1. Glad you can relate, Dee! I know that not everybody can make all their wildest dreams come true (I am aware my chances of marrying Mads Mikkelsen someday are pretty close to none) but working for reasonable dreams is very uplifting… 🙂

      2. I agree! I believe that sometimes, when you think what you are reaching for is unattainable, it is just a matter of how you look at it!

        My first trip to Denmark seemed like something I could never do, due to the costs for a long time… And one day, I started looking for ways to travel on the smallest budget possible. I used CouchSurfing, and only ate at the restaurant twice, which allowed me to live my dream.

        Where there’s a will, there’s a way…. Or so they say 😉

      4. Another thing I get told often is how things are different for me, because I am “game”… As if every challenge was easy for me. LOL I am scared everytime I try something crazy and unlikely to work out… But I just keep in mind that if I try, there’s always a chance that it’ll succeed!! 😉 It’s all in the attitude, perhaps…

      5. Right? Most people I know realize how hard it worked to get where I am but so many people think “successful” people are just lucky or special. 🙄 we’re all special…The difference is we just do it… Whatever it is lol
