If you could get on a plane tomorrow…

Where would you go, and why?

Well that’s an easy one, isn’t it?

If you don’t know where I would fly to, I want to personally welcome you to The Cove! Because this is obviously one of your first visits.

So… Of course, I would gladly hop on a plane, if it took me to Denmark, again.

I do miss my fairy tale land…

Here is a list of (very good) reasons to go to Denmark:

  1. Danes are amazing people… Discreet and respectful, yet outgoing and welcoming if you dare to mingle with them!
  2. Wether you prefer to wander through nature, enjoy animated nighttime, learn about history, culture or design, Denmark has what you’re looking for, for perfect vacations… Unless you like skiing. Yeah, with 170 m at its highest point, you probably would find it disappointing, although you can ski down a garbage burning plant in Copenhagen!
  3. With a 3 1/2 hours of drive from East to West, and 4 hours drive from South to North (or the other way around, of course), you can easily visit all the main areas of Denmark in a relatively short vacation.
  4. Public transportation is super convenient, and it will take you about anywhere you can wish to go. And if you are in a hurry, domestic flights will take you across the country in less than an hour for a very reasonable price.
  5.  The food is amazing. Wether you’re just snacking on a classic hot dog, having a smørrebrød (open sandwich) for lunch or going for a hearty dinner, the food always looks great, and the servings generous.
  6. You’re never far from water. Denmark has so much coastline, that you can hardly get away from the oceanview.
  7. During summer time, the days are insanely long… At mid June, the sun rises around 4h30 and sets around 22h. If that’s not enough daytime to see everything you have on your list… You’re crazier than me! LOL
  8. I promise that you’ll sleep better than you ever have before. Danish duvets are magical… I thought it was just me, and that I was just biased, but since my first trip, many people agreed with me that you just sleep like a baby in Vikingland. Maybe that has something to do with point number 8, though.
  9. Vikings… Need I say more?
  10. I’ve been telling you to go to Denmark for years now… Why would I do that if Denmark sucked?

If this list isn’t enough to convince you… Here are a couple of pictures, from my first four trips… Waiting for the next!

    1. Oh Joy, this makes me so happy 🙂 If you ever plan a trip to Denmark, let me know. I’d love to help you plan the perfect journey for you!

Ireland is also on my bucketlist… It looks so beautiful, and my parents told me it was definately a must-see country 🙂

  1. If i could jump on a plane tomorrow and go anywhere? Hmm that’s a tough one I can think of a few places I’d want to go, i can think of a few people i’d want to go visit.

    1. Heyyy dear Giant… It is so good to read you 🙂 I agree, there are so many amazing places all around the world, it’s hard to make a choice (unless you are desperately in love with a foreign country like me LOL) I hope Canada is still on your list 😉

How are you doing? I noticed your come back on your blog some time back, but I’ve been on & off the Bloggosphere myself, so I very well might have missed some of your posts. I’ll have to check that up. I hope you’ll start writing again, because you have a real talent for it 🙂 *Big hugs* xx

    1. 🙂 Welcome to the club (of people not having to think twice 😉 ) I’d love to visit Egypt too. So much history to explore… Great pick, Madame Suze! When I finally win that jackpot (yes, I still have my Cove lottery ticket) I’ll send you tickets! xx

  2. Awe gorgeous I loved reading this post and it always lifts my heart to read about your passion for your homeland. I will definitely have to visit, but first I’d be on a plane to my homeland Germany.
    Much love to you ❤️

    1. Dear Rhapsody, I can’t imagine how much you must miss Germany with all that’s going on all around the planet. I hope you get to travel back there sooner than later. And when you do, if you have a couple of days to spare, I could give you tips to go to a natural park, on Danish ground not far from the German border, where you can see wild horses… The experience is priceless, I am sure you’d love it 🙂 Much love to you too! xx

      1. Oh that would be wonderful and I would love it for sure. We have wild horses here too and there is a mustang round up every year to ensure the population doesn’t get too big as good resources become scarce. It’s always a special treat to see these majestic wild creatures and now I can’t wait even more 😉. Big hugs to you ❤️

    1. Ohhhh I agree (although I am not changing my own choice, LOL) There are so many amazing places along France’s South coast. We once had a chance to visit a winery because my father had a friend who was friends with the wine maker… They made Jurançon wine, and the owner offered a wine tasting that resulted in me getting drunk for the first time in my life (at the age of 15) 😉

I don’t know if you ever visited it, but if not, I recommend putting it on your to-see list… Carcassonne is an amazing medieval city.

    1. It’s going to be on my way anyway… So yes, of course I’ll stop by and find a good wi-fi connection to visit your blog and a couple of others that are lacking a Greenland visit. I’m not sure if I would dare to grant myself the Greenland flag. though. It would be a little too easy. I will probably rely on you to pay back the favor 😛

  3. Paris! My ex was supposed to take me and well now that I’m divorced I wanted to go for my 50th. Anyhow planned it for next year and at this rate I doubt it!
