When she spotted him in the café, she rushed to the door.
She passed the door, and ran into his arms, just like a little girl. He hugged her tight and kissed the top of her head, while she uncontrollably squealed against his chest.
Calming down, she took her purse and moved to her chair while Mark also sat back.
The table by the window, brilliant!
A waiter quickly came to take their order. Mark offered to share a piece of the café’s gorgeous chocolate cakes, and they both settled for a latté to wash it down.
Are you sure you want to do this? I mean… to do it that way?
He suddenly looked very serious. And that made her nervous. Did she? Really? She did. There was no other way to get out of this toxic relationship… She had thought it over, time and time again, and to get rid of Christian, she needed to make him think that he couldn’t hold her back.
You know I’d do anything for you…
She looked at her watch, and realized it was just about time. Mark seemed to understand, and bent down over the little table to grab her hands tenderly.
She smiled. Love oozed from them both, and she knew it would go well. Just then, Christian entered the café, and obviously spotted them. His reaction was priceless… He went straight to the counter, ordered a coffee to go and left without even aknowledging their presence.
They waited until he was out, to allow themselves to start giggling. Mark kissed her on the cheek.
Let’s go and get your stuff, Sis!
She was thankful her brother had come back from Seatle just days before. Just in time to let her free from this toxic relationship.
