By remarkable coincidence, my given name is the same as my paternal grandmother’s, but my mother told me that wasn’t the reason she chose it. She said she just liked it. I never knew whether to believe her.
My name Jeanne is the feminine of John in English and Jean in French. My dad’s name was John. I was named after my dad. Also, the name Jeanne mean’s God is gracious.
My Mother was looking in a magazine and saw my name and thought it would be good for the baby she was expecting if it turned out to be a girl.

My father came from Scotland to Montreal in the late 50s and loved the French culture. He thought Suzanne was a French name😁
