Some people were addicted to drugs, some needed alcohol flowing through their veins…
She craved that very moment.
Every evening.
She needed the vaporous smell of expensive cigars, the muffled murmurs of the crowd, the feeling of the heavy velvet curtains splitting in two, as if a gentleman was pulling a cloak from her bare shoulders.
She felt like a princess, standing alone on the stage, wrapped in the darkness. And when the presentator made her name echo through the room, she had goosebumps waiting for the spotlight to transform her into a sparkling diamond.
Time to shine! – she whispered.
