.
I bet it won’t surprise anyone, if I say that every now and then, I need to revisit my Denmark pictures, to give me a little boost.
For that, or just for the heck of it.
I don’t need a special reason to reminisce my Vikingland memories.
Tonight, I went back to Himmelbjerget. Literally ”Sky Mountain”. I visited the mountain hill, during my fourth and last (to this day) trip to DK. It had been on my ”to-do” list from the beginning, but never had the chance to fit it my three previous trips (to my defense, my second visit to Denmark took place in February, which is not ideal for a boat trip, that was necessary to get to Himmelbjerget).
The mountain hill, is the highest (well, not exactly, but the best known peak) of Denmark. I just had to climb it. All 147 meters of it!
I clearly remember how excited I was when our little steamboat got close to the shore.
The upcoming challenge was up to my hiking skills, and I just couldn’t wait to walk my way up to the top of the tower.
Looking at my picture, many years later, I can’t help but notice the swan that is discretly paddling at the bottom of the shot. Which isn’t surprising. There are so many wild swans in Denmark.
But I can’t blame them, if I was a swan, I’d want to live in Denmark too. I’m not even a swan and I want to.
LOL
Oh geez…. I can’t wait to be able to plan a new trip.
I miss you, Denmark… You and your absolute flatness!
For me, that special place is Paris. And I have found myself, over and over again, looking at my Paris trips and wondering when I would be able to go back again 🙏🏻 hopefully both our wishes will come true.
