Meet & Greet, Make a difference Party!

Welcome to this new Meet & Greet Party!

If you’re new to this kind of virtual gatherings, Meet & Greets are a perfect (and fun) way to get to know new people and to promote your own blog a little.

Dress up, or come in your favorite pjs! Invite your friends over, because the more is always the merrier. Don’t be shy, no one’s allowed to bite, in The Cove πŸ˜‰

But before we get this party started, let me share this idea that’s been lingering in the back of my mind for quite a while now…

Every now and then, I get this little voice that urges me to do something, to try to make our world a better place. I really want to try and make a difference, but the excuses rush in to make that little voice shut up. I don’t know how to do it. I don’t know where to start. What ever little thing I could do wouldn’t change the world as it is. I don’t have time…

I am not special in any kind of way. And I often tell myself that it seems statisically impossible that among some 7,869,047,500 human beings, I could have an idea that nobody else had before me. Or that anybody could have an idea that nobody thought about before them. It isn’t “impossible”, but very unlikely to happen. I think.

With that in mind, let’s say that one person in a million is watching the news this week, thinking ”I wish I could change the world, just a little bit, I wish I could help”. One in a million is not a whole lot, wouldn’t you agree? But what happens is that most of these 7,869 people end up thinking that they are only one person out of almost 8 billions. And even if they managed to raise 200$, it wouldn’t make a difference, at all.

Nobody can convince the 7,868 or so people thinking about trying…

But you can be the 7,869th.

And you can try, instead of thinking about it.

That’s what I want to do.

Starting at the publishing of this post and until Sunday June 6th, I’ll try to raise a little bit of money for Doctors Without Borders. You might have noticed the ”Buy me a coffee” button in The Cove… Ko-fi is an easy way to transfer money to other bloggers. Every given Ko-fi is worth 3$ and I’ll double any donation.

I’m not asking anyone to participate. I am well aware that a lot of people are on a short budget, especially nowadays. But if you can spare a coffee’s worth,  don’t hesitate to hit the button. It only takes one or two minutes of your time. And I’ll gladly transfer the amount to Doctors Without Borders, to help people from around the world. People suffering from the pandemic, people living in war zones, people struck by natural disasters…

Of course, on Sunday the 6th of June, I’ll post a proof that I made the donation.

But for now, let’s party!

Come in! Share the link to your blog and/or a friend’s… Mingle through the comment box and meet new faces.

I prepared finger food and the bar is full. I’ll be the crazy girl dressed as a unicorn on the dancefloor! Oh, talking about that, I didn’t find a proper dj, so if you don’t mind, link in a song you love that has to do with kindness or the act of sharing…

Otherwise, I’ll put the following song on repeat, and you’ll get tired of it before I do LOL

  1. MSF is a great organization and I have supported them before. But I am such a dimwit I can’t find your button to make a donation. Can you spell it out for me so I can find it on your home page.Thanks.

    1. They are doing a LOT, and what I like about them is that they stay in areas where people need them long after the media lose interest, and go places that don’t make the news. I do believe they make a big difference, and aren’t working to ”look good”. Here is the direct link to the page: Let me know if it doesn’t work, but it should πŸ˜‰

    1. Hey there, Fabulous… Sorry I didn’t reply earlier. I wasn’t well today, and stayed away from The Internets. Thank you for stopping by πŸ™‚ I hope you had a good time having lunch with your mum!! xx

    1. Thank you for coming Carol Anne πŸ™‚ It was a ”Meh” weekend, really. I had to work on Saturday, and felt under the weather today (Sunday). But the party is going on all week long, so it doesn’t really matter. Can I treat you with a song? Do you have a pick for us? πŸ™‚
