This afternoon, Chéri got his first shot of the Pfizer vaccine.
I was supposed to be able to book my first appointment starting tomorrow morning, but just as we were about to have dinner, Chéri (who is constantly on Twitter) told me that the government had already opened some spots for my age range.
So I jumped on the occasion, and I booked my appointment. And immediately informed Little Bro, who got the spot, 5 minutes later than mine (we thought it’d be fun to do it together).
It feels a little unreal… Thursday at 7 PM, it will be my turn to get vaccinated and finally see the light at the end of the tunnel.
And I hope that more and more people will follow, so we can start to imagine some kind of normality, again.
I respect people who have doubts, it is natural to doubt. But I’d like to leave a message for all the anti-vaccine and anti-mask people, for the people who think that covid-19 is just a bad cold… Not from my mouth, I know I could never come up with any argument that would make them even consider that they might be wrong.
Last weekend, on May 1st, Gisèle Beaudoin died from covid-19 after only 5 days. Mrs Beaudoin didn’t believe in wearing masks to protect herself or the people around her. She didn’t believe in covid-19, or in the world pandemic. She didn’t believe people died because of this disease. She didn’t believe in the vaccine…
And yet, on her death bed, her last wish was for her husband and her sister to go get vaccinated, ASAP. And her last message to the rest of the world was to do the same.
You can read her story here.
It is a personal choice, and I’ve made mine.
It’s a date!
My doctor phoned me this morning to let me know they could vaccinate me on Friday, I am running out of excuses now.

The virus does not care about beliefs; it takes away health and lives. Can’t wait to get my shot, glad to hear you got a date!

You’re absolutely right… Funny how 14 months ago, scientists were saying ”it won’t be possible to get a vaccine before a year, a year and a half” and people were whining about how we couldn’t wait that long… And now that we have it, a lot of people are scared of it 😉
I’m really glad I got an early appointment too, hitting the big 40 is finally paying off 😛 I hope you’ll get yours very soon, Miss 🙂
