Something’s wrong… (March 19th FFF)

I was invited (well, not personally, but still…) to join the Fandango’s Friday Flashback!

Fandango scrolls back, every Friday, and gives a second chance to a post he had published on the same date, years before. I thought it was a great way to remember some of the stuff I did a while back, and I decided to participate…

So here it is!

Previously published on March 19th of 2016, here is a short short anecdote, from 5-years-ago me.  Just one of these what-the-dang moments, that keep haunting you (or is that just me?) for years. I hope you’ll enjoy this (again – less than likely, I only got two likes for its first appearance in The Cove). And where ever you are, stay safe and well!

At the office. Alone.

It is time for supper, and tonight I am feasting on a not that exciting bowl of Hamburger Helper. To make it more… To make it less…  Hmmm. I decided to go get some ketchup from the building’s cafeteria.

The two maintenance employees were lunching together. It is a little special because both of them are deaf, making communication sometimes… a bit confusing.

So I turn around the corner, and wave at them on my way to the fridge to get my precious ketchup.

Suddenly brain starts itching …  “Something’s wrong, something’s wrong…   wrrrroooooooong!!!  Don’t you see it?? Don’t you???  Oh come on, it just doesn’t make sense!!!” I turned around to see what was going on…

They were watching a violin concert…………….!

  1. Not unusual to me. I have two deaf cousins…I’ve seen them watch some strange stuff. Some music shows they watched had external speakers hooked up to the TV. They put them face down on the floor to feel the beat.

They could get more out of a show watching the pratt falls or body language of the characters than I could.

    1. I’ve seen deaf people enjoying music when (as you said) they can feel the vibration, and I get that. But that evening, the sound was off. They were just watching a bunch of violinists playing… You’re probably right, though. It was probably all about body language 😉

    1. Yup, I thought about that too… I sometimes turn on the tv just to have background noise as I write or do something else, and eventually notice I’m ”watching” something I never would, normally. With this said, these two were definately watching the concert with interest… Intriguing 😉
