I was invited (well, not personally, but still…) to join the Fandango’s Friday Flashback!
Fandango scrolls back, every Friday, and gives a second chance to a post he had published on the same date the year before. I thought it was a great way to remember some of the stuff I did a while back, and I decided to participate…
So here it is!
Previously published on August 14th of 2017, this is just a very silly post. But sometimes, we need silly, don’t we? And the opening line really spoke to me, in times when there are far too many bad things on the news to have time for a white moose. I hope you’ll enjoy it (again). And where ever you are, stay safe and well 🙂
I like it when the breaking news of the day are news that aren’t such big news…
To me, it means that nothing awefully threathening is going on in the world. No “I’ll blow your country to smithereens!” tweet out overnight, no tropical storm hitting the coast or major earthquake followed by a tsunami.
Today, the news channel is all hype about a white moose that was caught on camera in Sweden. Well not on a camera, per say, which would already have been more impressive… No, just filmed. No, I don’t know who filmed it. And I don’t know where exactly…
I can feel your disappointment. I wish I could provide you with more details, but I was getting ready for work, and I didn’t have time to listen closely to all the white moose’s whereabouts!
But there it was… A moose. All white. That’s it.
I wonder if Sweden has run out of moose paint. That can happen, I guess. Here in Canada we have shitloads of mooses, and we usually paint them brown. It’s like a convention. We thought about trying brighter colors, but it would have drastically lowered the level of satisfaction among hunters, when they would have come back with their fluorescent pink moose!
Bored hunters try to get their challenge elsewhere, and we like the fact that our hunters have been focused on mooses instead of sneaky pedestrians. So brown it is for the mooses.
I thought I’d join a picture of the white moose, just so you wouldn’t have wasted all this time on reading a useless post. I bet you’ve never seen a white moose, and the sight is totally worth the wait.
Ok. So I googled, to get the best pic available…

Voilà! White moose… In Sweden…
I hope I see one for myself when I am there next month. I promise to bring back all the information about the wheres and whens and whys if I do. And tons of pictures…
You can visit the original post here.
Personally, I’d prefer some white mousse.

Here’s the teaser from a search tonight:

The BBC once had a day, back in the days of radio, where they announced that there was no news. It was way back, 30s I think, and I think they just played some music instead.
