I mentionned a couple of days back the possibility that my favorite airline would soon go out of business.
Ok, I heard the eye-rolling in the back. Yes, I am going to talk about Wow Air again, you can close the window and go straight to the next post in your Reader if it doesn’t interest you…
So, as I was saying in my previous post, it saddens me that the company might have to stop doing business. Back in May of 2016, it was the low cost of my plane tickets that allowed me to travel to Denmark for the very first time. It was also the great bargains that made it possible to return twice, since, and to go to Paris this fall.
It is a detail, but I love the company’s branding. I don’t know any airline that can compete, as Wow Air really stands out with their bright purple trend. You can’t miss their nose to tail purple planes on the tarmac, nor can you miss Wow Air staff when they walk in the crowd, wearing their purple uniforms.
But the true secret of Wow Air is not their image, it is their staff.
Obviously, travelers know when they board the plane, that they won’t have the luxurious comfort and entertainment more expensive airlines provide. But after several hours of flying, people can forget, and passengers have more reasons to get grumpy when they have little to do. Wow Air flight attendants never lose their bright smiles, and stay very aware of people’s needs. From take off to landing, they make up for the lack of little extras the company can’t provide, in order to keep the prices low.
And Wow Air doesn’t keep customer pleasing to the flight itself. They put great efforts into making the Wow experience something special in all kinds of ways. For an example, in May 2016, I was flying on the very first Montreal to Keflavik trip. At the gate, Wow had hired a jazz quartet, and little amuse bouches were served to passengers while we waited to get on the plane.
But what inspired this post is a video I saw on Instagram earlier today. For the Holiday season, Wow Air has a Wow Santa and Wow Helpers giving out sweets and hot beverages around. Anyone who has traveled through airports knows that it can be a stressful experience, even if it is one of the obliged steps of a great trip. An unexpected smile is something that surely made that experience a lot more fun for everybody!
I know there still will be planes going to Copenhagen (and everywhere else, for that matter) if they go out of business, but I really hope Wow Air makes it through and doesn’t capitulate!

they hopefully will hang on…I really need to take a trip on Wow.I have a gorgeous purple hat I could wear..it would fit right in!

LOL I am sure the stewards would appreciate the gesture 🙂 If they stay afloat, I might my myself a Wow-purple hat and/or scarf for my next trip! Thanks for the idea 🙂 🙂 🙂

Thank you, Gorgeous 🙂 Who knows, in a near future, I might fly one of these purple planes to visit UK… That could be fun!!

Sounds like a nice airline. We have Easyjet, which is OK and Ryanair which is absolutely dreadful and deserves to go out of business.

It is… nice people, I never was disappointed with them so far!
That last sentence made me giggle… I’ll stay away from Ryanair, just in case 😛

P.S. I just looked up Ryanair on The Internets… They are selling out tickets for under 15 pounds!! I like cheap flights, but let me tell you, I’d be a little worried to fly with a company this desperate 😛

I haven’t flown them, but I hope they stay in business. They sound like a great company.

I hate flying but they deserve to stay in business and if it is just to keep you happy 🙋❤

Thank you 🙂 🙂 🙂 I sure hope I’ll get to fly with them at least once more 🙂 It is also funny, because since I always go through Keflavik in Iceland, I have tons of Iceland customs’ stamps in my passport. I have the feeling they’ll end up asking question at one point or another LOL

Reblogged this on The Bee Writes… and commented:
I hate flying but also hate it if a good business goes bust that make a good person like Cyranny happy. Care to share on your blogs and see if we can get them some customers?

They said this morning on the news that WOW would change service from Gatwick to Stanstead from March onwards. It’s probably cheaper.

Thanks for the info, Bee 🙂 Probably also means that they are working to keep the company afloat… Good news 🙂
