Evil device…

Nothing looks evilish on this picture, right?

Wrong. There is a magic eye incorporated to that faucet, and if you move your hands too close to it, it’ll turn on the water automatically…

Ughhh! Devil thing!!  I get caught everytime. E-ve-ry-ti-me. And I step up and remind Mom that she has a devilish kitchen faucet, and that she really should go back old school, with faucets you actually have to turn on and off!

Really, this is not a better way. Mom and Dad have installed this faucet about 5 years ago. I still come close to flatlining everytime I walk near it.

It has to stop.

Mom turned the magic eye off for me, for the weekend. (I won, you devilish thing!! Mom loves me more than she loves you!!!)

P.S. Yes, Sandra, that’s one of your cards! 🙂

    1. I know, I am a horrible dictator! And I played with my Mom’s feeling to have it my way… Aren’t you surprised I still have a couple of friends left?? 😛

  1. I have a friend who set her purse on the counter, when she arrived home, to run and answer the phone. It fell into the sink, and one of these evil devices turned on. When she returned, she found her purse submerged in water.

    1. Oh my, thank you so much for sharing this story, Candice 🙂 I laughed out loud when I read it, and I told my Mom about the terrible danger of purse drowning!! I knew someone else had to be a victim of one of these…

    1. Hahahahahahaha For some reason, the dang thing turns on to make me step up when I don’t want it to, but when I actually WANT it to turn on, it just won’t. I don’t think we are ghosts, just that these automatic faucets are in fact evilish, and just want to make us really upset 😛 It’s a faucet conspiration 😛

  2. I hate these things and find them unnecessary for me and for the majority of folks I know in private homes. I can see that they give the average person in a public restroom no credit for the wit to turn the water off, but…I hate them and would never have one at home, personally.

      1. I would love it if we had running water, for example–haven’t since last Thursday, except for a couple of flushes’ worth today briefly. We did get electricity back though, and that has been an asset.

      2. Since last Thursday. We do have electric back–it was only out a day-two–but water stayed off and came on briefly once or twice, enough to flush but nothing you’d want to drink. I hope to be able to turn on the hot-water-furnace again today, since we got snow again although not tons at this point.

      3. Thanks–I’m heating a kettle and may just retreat to the only room with heat and cats and chocolate, although I usually only do that at night. It’ll all work out. The snow at least is lovely, and I don’t drive, so I have no worries about that now.

    1. If it was my house, I would have, already!! Mouahahahaaha I can’t keep count of the number of times I cursed the evil thing for turning the water on when I was just putting dishes in the sink 😛

  3. Haha. I couldn’t manage with that. When I moved into my first apartment after getting divorced the shower had similar modern fixtures. I took a bath for 3 days in a row (a trick with very long hair to wash) because I could not for the life of me figure out how to turn on the shower!!

  4. I love those, wish I had it at home. It’s great for public restrooms because you don’t have to reach which is hard from a chair, and you are germ free. That’s been especially important with this year of flu. Sound just like a grandmother, don’t I?😂💞
