This morning Svendborg’s Fairy whispered to my ear again…
I was still asleep, it goes without saying. For this is the way fairies talk to simple humans. She gave me more information about the green magic dress, and was pleased that I was taking her mission at heart.
How could I take things lightly? She had been writing stories for me, soothing my everyday worries and sorrows with fantasy for so long without asking for anything.
She gathered the last dreamy thoughts from my mind, with her fairy fingers, and smiled. Then I woke up just as I do every morning. It is always a happy morning, when the souvenir of Svendborg’s Fairy accompanies my early stretching up…
I got up, and walked to the living room to check my real-life messages. Because sometimes, you do have to do real things with real people. That is how it works, if you don’t want to go to the looney house!
So I checked my inbox, and there it was… A message from my spy friend in Denmark! Not that it was unusual to have news from him, but the message had been sent by his spy email address, which was a bit worrying…
Yeah, because I have an American spy friend, you know? I don’t talk much about him, not under those terms, for obvious security reasons. He used to live in California, in his younger years, until the CIA recruited him some 30 years ago… Denmark had tried to get crucial information about the US by sending a gorgeous Danish girl over, pretending to come for some au pair work…
My friend having both the brains and the looks, the CIA contacted him right away, begging that he’d give them a hand to elude Denmark’s plans, by seducing the smukke danske pige!
Being incredibly patriotic, my friend accepted to make the biggest sacrifice of all; to abandon his beloved country to protect it. So he worked out his best moves on the mysterious foreign woman, won her heart and convinced her to go back to Denmark to get married. She was so madly in love that she totally forgot her spying plans, and he hurried her back home before she got her ideas straight again!
Since, he takes care of some CIA stuff in Denmark, and pretends to work in retail. He’s really good at making up lies, and I am pretty sure his wife still thinks it was fate that brought them together…
Ok, enough about him, or I might end up dropping names or details that could lead Denmark’s security to him, therefor putting our friendship in peril, and maybe even his life… He has been sneaking at their best kept secrets for quite some years now…
So, I entered the secret password to his CIA encrypted email, and what I learned gave me a chill down the spine.
Canada’s government had discovered some plans made to take me down during my trip. Denmark’s authorities had misinterpreted my love for their country for some spying preparation! So Canada’s Prime Minister had contacted the CIA to see who could keep an eye on me… Because, I am an important person, you know?
The CIA did 1+1, and forwarded all the needed information to my spy friend, who was now contacting me to give me the details I needed to know…
So upon arrival, I am to travel by night as fast as I can to…. To his home city. We have a meeting spot long settled, in case of such needed secret rendez-vous, And I am to wait for him there, as long as it will take. He will discretely pass a cellphone to me, looking like an old smartphone, but geared with all the most technologic apps and functions secret services have developed over the years…
I will be monitored, followed, and I have to report to a secret number every day, just to make sure Danes haven’t taken the phone from me and just pretend that I am still alive…
My friend will be looking over my shoulder… At all times. Some could get scared, but I am not… Why should I be when my back is covered like that??
Thanks again, James… *wink*
