Sometimes, I stop and wonder ”Am I the only one seeing this?”
Maybe I’m too much into details… Maybe it is a Me problem. I just might put too much thought into otherwise insignificant stuff.
But still, it bugs me. And I need your opinion for this one. Because, quite frankly, I find it a little disturbing.
A couple of weeks back, our government came up with a tv advertisement to promote the vaccination for children between the age of 5 and 12. The main idea wasn’t bad at all…
It featured kids doing all kinds of things they were deprived of, at times, during the pandemic. Celebrating a ”normal” birthday, spending time with their grand parents or simply playing with their friends carelessly.
In the ad, the children grimace at the camera, and at the end, we can see a little girl getting her vaccine, and saying ”Beware covid-19!!”
Fair enough, right?
Here it is, so you can judge by yourself;

Good advertising. Promoting the vaccine, showing children they have a role to play in this dang pandemic, win-win.
But…
Is it just me, or does grand’pa seem a little too happy to be hugging his grand son? Maybe it is just the slow motion playing tricks on my dirty mind… But I always feel uneasy when I see him holding the kid, eyes closed, looking as if he’s taking a long sniff of the red headed little boy’s hair.
Seriously, is it just me?
I didn’t like this at all, it was confusing and more than a little creepy…

the whole thing is disturbing from a counselor’s point of view. some of it smacks of child abuse.

I saw this and thought it was more than a tad disturbing. I think whoever produced this ad needs to take a long look at themselves. Yuck!
