Probably fiction on the whole. I do enjoy reading life stories, but it is a different kind a enjoyment – my brain seems to view it more as an educational kind of reading. But when I read fiction, my brain does not try to absorb and retain – it’s just a transitory enjoyment. I often read fiction….and then forget. Whereas when I read a biography, I seem to remember for a very long time.
Oh….and movies – different altogether. So many movies not contain silly fantasy, I actually prefer a real life story in a movie – but something inspiring and uplifting. I have so very little free time to sit and watch a movie – so I want it to make me feel better, not worse!
Is that the 250 word one? No, I haven’t. Have you? I only one point separated me from the final of the 100 word comp, and then I had to pull out of the flash fiction (for other reasons) after placing 6th in the heat. So I’m a bit deflated right now.
I like both. Depends on what mood I’m in. Sometimes, curling up with a good fiction is one of the hardest things to beat. Sometimes, watching a good documentary or reading a well written book about someone’s life is impossible to beat. It’s one of those things that you just play by ear based on what you’re feeling. Not all fiction is good, and not all real-life is interesting.

I prefer real life stories, but I will read some fiction. But it has to be really good to hold my attention! Xx

I understand… I am really puzzled myself. I prefer real life stories, but good fiction is a close second 🙂

I agree… Although I like story based on real life, because I like to try to understand other people’s lives.

True Crime and Non-fiction Survival stories. However, I do like a few Fiction stories, also.

It’s the reverse for me. I’m better with real life stuff in writing, and love to read and watch fiction

Good fiction, via all of its careful little fibs, will always lead to the greater truth.

Good Sir, you always point out subtle realities…. With that said. I am curious, have you entered October’s NYC Challenge?

Both, actually. How about “ripped from the headlines” fictionalized stories based upon real, life events?

Hahahahahsh Yeah, I feel you. It is easy to make fiction out of the news 😛
