I don’t do book reviews, simply because I don’t know how to make a good one.
Sure, I could learn how to become a great reviewer (is that even a word?), but there are many awesome awesome bloggers that already do it a hundred times better than I could ever, so…
I am making an exception today, though.
About two (or three) weeks ago I received my copy of Feasting upon the bones. The collection of short stories is the work of Suzanne, whom you very well might know as the host of My Dang Blog. And if you don’t know Suzanne, shame on you! (LOL) We are used to the Lady’s great sense of humour, and her out-of-the box thinking.
In Feasting upon the bones though, her creativity is taking a dark turn.
The book is a bouquet of twenty seven short (sometimes very short) stories, flirting with mystery, suspence and death. Each tale is absolutely unique, and takes you in the universe of her fifty shades of gray characters (though, I won’t lie, most of them stand in the darkest side of the specter).
If you are like me, the past year and a half has taken a toll on your concentration abilities. And that’s totally fine, because you can just pick up Feasting upon the bones when you have a couple of minutes to yourself, and enjoy a couple of pages of what’s-going-to-happen-now? before going back to your coming zoom meeting. I wouldn’t recommend it for your bedside table, though. Not because it isn’t good enough (far from it), but because you might take the last story you read with you when you fall asleep, and that could mean a little more toss and turning than your better half signed for.
Seriously, if you read the book, and don’t get goosebumps once, you’re dead inside.
So, what are you waiting for? Suzanne is one of us, and she writes beautifully. And if you need another good reason to buy her book, know that Suzanne will name a future character after you if you leave her a review.
So click here for all the links to order your copy.
And if you’ve never had a chance to virtually ”meet” with Suzanne, you’ll get your chance this coming Wednesday at 7h00 PM Eastern time. She will be hosting a reading of Feasting upon the bones on Facebook. I’ll be there, and I’ll bring a couple of friends. The more, the merrier, right? So if you’re free, join in…
I promise you won’t be disappointed. Suzanne never disappoints
P.S No pressure, Suzunne 😛
