YES! Back in the late 60s I used to hitch hike to work. It was in the city and honestly I never thought about the risk. I would never do it now or in fact at any other time in my life.
When we were kids – we used to stick our thumb out for fun – nobody ever stopped – THANK GOODNESS!!!
As an adult I would not dream of it. In fact a few times when I was out walking alone, a car has pulled up and a driver has offered me a lift. It was the creepiest thing!!!
I am afraid with the world being a blend of sweet lovely people, and a rather sinister scary streak of people out there – nope – I am not getting to cars with any strangers on my own.

Plenty of times back in the day, but not since I was in my early 20s back in the mid 60s.

Yep. Not for some time. I’ve given rides to hitchhikers as well…but, definitely not for some time.

Yes, I have. I hitchhiked for most of 23 years (1996-2020). I have had three books self-published.
