Yes, they are back! When I took the walk to the pharmacy yesterday to get Chéri’s monthly medecine, I caught these two kitties. They had probably been there for a while, and I have probably walked past them a number of times without even noticing.
It made me realize that I probably wasn’t paying as much attention to the little things as I used to. So I decided to (try to) start this series again.
I hope you’ll enjoy it, and that it will inspire some of you to keep an open eye for the little details around you. There’s a lot of beauty in the usual and the familiar….

Description for the visually impaired; The silhouette of two cats drawn on the side of a house, in my neighbourhood.
That what we often do; too engrossed in our thoughts to look around.

Absolutely! Personally, my last couple of times out of the house have felt like I was on a mission, because of the current events. Yesterday, I realized that being cautious didn’t need to mean wearing blinders… 😉

So true. We still can look around and see the beautiful and the unusual.

It’s amazing the number of times we’ll be out and one of us will say, “Hey, has that always been there?” Those cat silhouettes are very sweet:-)

I agree… And some times, I am tempted to kick myself in the butt for not having noticed before 😛 Fortunately, I am not that flexible LOL

What story is it or what am I thinking of? The Alchemist? The king gives the boy a spoon with a drop of oil and tells him to roam the castle and take it all in. When he gets back to the king, he has the oil but can’t say one thing that he saw. He then takes the spoon with the oil, goes back and observes everything, but comes back with no oil. Sort of the same idea. We walk by details everyday but we get so consumed by other things we don’t notice the small details.

Oh my… You have a good memory. Yes, I remember reading this story! Such a great parallel, thank you for sharing Stine 🙂
Also, may I ask where you are from? Stine sounds like a nordic name, but I might be wrong 😉

My whole name is Christine. I am actually half Polish and half Italian. I have one grandparent from Northern Italy, hence blond hair and blue eyes. I don’t know any relatives on the Polish side beside my grandparents and aunts and uncles. All are deceased. The ones before them were sent to concentration camps. Apparently, there are a few others still around but I don’t know them.
