This Which Way challenge is all about capturing the roads, walks, trails, rails, steps, signs, etc. we move from one place to another on.  You can walk on them, climb them, drive them, ride on them, as long as the specific way is visible.  Any angle of a bridge is acceptable as are any signs.

There won’t ever a topic to this challenge.  All you need have is the “way” visible and the main focus of your photo.  Here is a list of acceptable “ways”:

• Roads:  gravel, asphalt, cobbled, dirt, freeway, expressway, highway, bridges
• Indoor walkways:  hallways, aisles, people movers
• Outdoor walks:  sidewalks, paths, trails
• Stairs, elevators, escalators, or steps:  indoors, outdoors
• Railway tracks, monorails, ski lifts
• Runways and tarmacs
• Ferry’s, canals and locks
• Parking lots, private driveways
• Tunnels
• Signs of any kind:  directional, informational, store signs, wind vanes
• Maps that are posted as signs

Here’s my take on it this week;

She just loved railroads.

Trains too, but not quite as much. She prefered to walk into the station at times of the day, when there wasn’t a wagon in sight…

The steel tracks reminded her of Life. How some people went through their existence by themselves, how some lived side by side, never really interfering with each other. How some people’s lives merged together, while others’ seperated, never knowing if they would meet again someday.

Occasionally, she would find the end of a track. The death of a random journey lying at her feet. It made her sad, somehow… But never too long, for she only had to turn around to make it the birth of another adventure.

And watching the railroads blending into the horizon, she smiled, thinking that maybe, just maybe… Immortality was a possibility.

I would like to dedicate this post to our very special host, Sonofabeach! Sonofa is putting and end (hopefully only momentarily) to his blogging activities on September 20th. Sonofa, you are one inspiring gentleman, not only through your amazing photography skills, but also by being such a generous, present, kind and dang funny feelow blogger. You sure make a difference in my life every week, since our paths have first crossed, and I miss you a great deal. Travel safe, and don’t change a single tiny bit!
