Cyranny’s quickie!

When you travel, do you plan everything in advance, or do you prefer to improvise along the way?

  1. I find it easier if I plan it out. I did enough spontaneous travelling when I was a young woman, and perhaps I’ve had my fill. And these days? I believe strongly the planning is necessary. My health problems do not lend themselves well to an off the cuff travelling ‘adventure.’

  2. I used to plan when travelling. But then I started to travel with friends who were more relaxed and spontaneous. That changed me. We made so many friends and we accepted invitations and offers to be shown around by local people we met. It made me so much more chilled about travelling.

  3. depends….if I am to be gone overnight at the very least I simply grab a bag and throw stuff in I may need. If I go camping, it is well planned and executed with ease for the planning.

  4. All trips involve a bit of planning, from flights to rental houses, etc. However, I prefer to have no agenda once I arrive. My days are full of have-to’s and deadlines, neither of which I want to deal with on a vacation.

  5. When I was younger and backpacking I would travel in an ad hoc fashion. But then with children some planning was needed. However we went round Australia in a campervan when our kids were 2 and 4 and we did not plan that too much. We just drove round the entire continent. But we had our home with us. Now as we are older we usually plan where we are going. I’m too old now to sleep on the floor in a train station if I cannot find a room .
