What is the craziest thing you’ve ever done, in the name of Love?

I am not the first blogger to start a ”Question of the day” series. I used to participate to Danny’s Let me ask you a question posts regularly, but since he has almost stopped pubishing them, I thought I’d give it a go. We’ll see if I stick to it, depending on the answers I get!

  1. Are we talking romantic love? I have done a lot of things for friends to “rescue” them.
But when it comes to romantic love, I think I have been a bit crazy at times.

The surprise I organized for Goldfinch when he came back from Australia in January 2018 was probably a bit crazy. I had only known him for about five weeks before he went away. He was in Australia for the holidays for five weeks. Even though he had not told me specifically which flight he would be on, I worked which flight he was probably on based on him saying he would be away for five weeks and he would be getting back on a Monday and heading straight to Coventry. He did not expect me to be there at Terminal 2 Arrivals waiting with my big Goldfinger sign! I surprised him throughout the evening. That afternoon waiting for him with that big gold sign was agony, because doubt started to creep in and I was worried I had got it all wrong! I ended up in Coventry with him that night dancing around a bus terminal in the middle of the city.

Then there is Jack – I guess pleading with our superiors not to cause any trouble for him was only because I loved him. I also took out a huge chunk of my savings and stuffed it into an envelope and made sure it got to him through a route so that he would not realize it was from me.

I think with Jammy, it was more the efforts I put into being perfect. He was near perfect you see. So I went to extremes trying to attain the supermodel body for him. I think I became very run down physically though. And I also started to feel after a while that Jammy (and I am still very fond of him) was always going to be a bit of a perfectionist and I could not put that pressure on myself without becoming miserable.

  2. Craziest thing I did was for teenage infatuation which as most know, is a very toxic, sometimes lethal aphrodisiac. I was 13 when Rick Springfield played a local venue in 1981. It was at an amusement park in New Jersey. At some point during the show I decided that I should sneak back stage….I had to meet him, had to! I determined that the best time to do this would be during his performance as people would be too distracted to notice. The specifics are hazy so many years later…I do recall climbing a significant wall and hiding behind shrubbery until I found a bathroom which I hid in until the show ended. A friend of RS came into the bathroom and I confessed my sins right there. She tried to tell me I should give him space and respect his privacy….um, I just wanted an autograph I wasn’t trying to start a family with the man. I managed to get his autograph which has since been lost, only the memory remains.

  3. You know, I simly can’t lie about the craziet thing I ever did for love… But, My husband was landing in McArthur Airport on Long Island after being away for nearly a month. I took it upon myself to only wear lingerie under my coat. Mind you, it was February.
I froze my buttocks off in the middle of a fairly crowded airport in fishnets and stilettos showing from under my coat.
Needless to say, my husband was thrilled to see me that day. LOL! 😍
