Need ideas? How about…

You want to enter the famous A to Z Challenge, but you have no clue what theme you should choose?

You are not alone…

I’ve noticed that many bloggers are still looking for the perfect theme. And since time is running out, I have the feeling that some of you are considering just skipping this 10th anniversary of the challenge.

So, I decided to (try to) help you out.

Here are a couple of ideas that came to mind, and that you might find useful. At least, I hope so.

Go musical:

You can play with band (or singer) names, or with song titles here. Why not introduce us to 26 of your favorite songs. You can write a short fiction, a poem or your thoughts about the song of the day… We all enjoy a good musical reference.

Share famous thoughts:

Wether you use the subject or the name of the person who said it, quotes are always inspiring. And if you add your personal thoughts, your A to Z Challenge is sure to gather its share of readers.

Play with length:

Make a list of A to Z words (you can always use our A to Z page on Word of the Day Challenge) but don’t focus so much on the subject. Instead, concentrate on the number of words each day… Start with 25 words, and add 25 more every other day, going up to 650, or be more ambitious, and do the same starting with 50, and ending with a 1300 words long post on the last day of your challenge. Or do it backwards… You are the boss of your own blog, after all!

Pay a tribute a day:

You are one of these bloggers, who follow more fellow wordsmiths than most of us could handle? Why not give a shout out to 26 of your favorites, based on their name or the name of their site?

Oh, you’re on Instagram?:

I’ve come to really enjoy Instagram. As much as WordPress is the realm of words for me, Instagram is the perfect place to drop my favorite pictures without having to say much. Why not pick your fav 26, and give them a second chance on your blog with a little comment?

Cook it off!:

You have to eat everyday too, don’t you? So if you have a little time to make your day to day recipe fit the challenge, why not share it with us? I’m sure that’s not a theme that’s been overused the past 9 years 😉

Be up close and personal:

We all like to get to know the bloggers we follow better. Why not share an anecdote-a-day? I’m sure you have enough memories to dig into. You might think that you’ve lived an ordinary life, but I bet we’d beg to differ!

I hope this can help? Please let me know if you’d like me to search for more ideas… I just would hate it if you missed the April Challenge just because of a lack of inspiration.

  1. I was thinking of missing it this year too. Because of exams.. But your posts have encouraged me to give it a try… I’ll start it definitely..but not sure whether I’d be able to make it through the end or not.. 😀

    1. It “officially” starts on the first of April, but you can pretty much join in whenever you want. I did my first A to Z Challenge totally off schedule 😉

There are very little rules… The point is to, basically, publish a post a day for 26 days, using a letter of the alphabet to inspire your daily contribution. Day one being A, day two, B and so on…

You can read more about it on my previous post: https://cyranny.com/2019/03/09/little-tip-if-youre-new-in-the-bloggosphere/

      🙂

    1. Thank you Cheryl 🙂 I’m going for the lazy-easy theme of “traveling”… I’m just hoping I manage to make it fun 😛

Dad is still at the hospital… He has to go through a coronary angiography before he gets released, and that should be done tomorrow (*fingers crossed*). His mood is up and down, but it seems like he is doing well physically, given the circumstances! Thank you for asking! xx
