I really enjoy cooking. It is a useful hobby, and it makes most people happy when you feed them… It’s just a win/win activity.
You might have read my previous post about making my first batch of homemade spaghetti here. Today, I decided to give the fresh pasta adventure a second try.
The dough recipe is quite easy. Just make a little nest out of 2 cups of flour and a pinch of salt in a bowl. Then crack 4 big eggs and pour a table spoon of olive oil in the middle. With a fork, whisk the eggs and oil a little, and slowly start incorporating the flour, first with the fork, then with your fingers, until all the liquid is mixed in. Knead the dough for 10 minutes (add a bit of flour if the dough gets sticky), wrap it in saran wrap and let it sit for half an hour.
The kneading is my favorite part. For some reason, it is so relaxing to work the dough. It is a bit like a big, warm stress ball that you get to eat in the end. Again… Win/win!
Tonight, I was making ravioli, and they would be filled with pulled porc. I must admit, the folding didn’t go as well as I expected, so maybe I should call them cyravioli. Not Masterchef worthy, but I am pretty pleased with myself anyway!
Ravioli… Check! (oh, and they were yummy yummy in the tummy)
