Looking back… Day 3.

20181203_220709

This time of year rhymes with generosity.

You are probably getting ready to spoil your loved ones, and that’s always great. But generosity is even greater when you give to people who aren’t part of your everyday life circle.

I consider myself to be a giving person. I don’t like writing this, because it sounds self-praising. But I think it is true. I give easily, and without expecting anything back in return…

Today I read a post published by Camilla from A Blackbird’s Nest. Our fellow blogger is trying to save the money to get a modest computer to keep her writing going on & offline. I don’t know Camilla personally, but for some reason, her post spoke to me.

Many people in the bloggosphere have a Ko-fi link or a Paypal donation button in their blogs. Some, just to give an opportunity to other bloggers to show their appreciation, others because they really could benefit from the generosity of other writers.

You might have difficulty making the ends meet yourself at the moment… But if it is not the case, why not skip your Starbuck pit stop once this week, and send a couple of bucks to someone who needs it more than you? Sometimes, just a few dollars can make a difference, and give someone living far away a grateful smile.

No one is safe from the possibility of going through rough times. And you’d be glad that people would help you out, wouldn’t you? Oh, sure, these people could be making up moving stories, just to get easy money… There are scammers everywhere nowadays. But I believe that what goes around comes around.  Life will eventually take care of the liars out there.

I am not asking you to make a donation of any kind. But if, like me, you feel like making a difference in someone else’s life, here are a couple of bloggers you can visit…

Colin from Welcome to my World : Colin, a Scottish young dad and good friend of mine, has been looking for work for a while. He is presently working hard getting his license to be a driving instructor, which would allow him to earn enough money to take care of his little family. But times have been a little rough in 2018, and I know a little help would be appreciated by this kind Scottish giant.

Trina from It’s Good to be Crazy Sometimes : Living with her partner and her adorable little boy (affectionately nicknamed Monkey), Trina has been struggling with UK government for months now, and trying to keep her family afloat. I deeply admire Trina, who always finds a way to be positive, no matter the bad news that end up in her mailbox. I’m sure she’d be delighted to find a little unexpected income instead of a bill, in her inbox.

Candice from A Chick Click : Candice who used to discuss mental illness in her former blog, Revenge of Eve, has recently launched a little business of her own. It is great to see her set herself goals, and work hard to achieve some success with her new dream. Candice has kindly asked for help grow her startup business. If you’d like to put a brick in her wall, please click on the link above!

If you have a Ko-fi or donation link on your blog too, and would like me to promote it, just let me know in the comment box below, and I’ll add you in my post.

If you are in my list, and would prefer that I removed the mention, please just tell me too. My intention is just to help, not to make anyone uncomfortable.

Being generous should be an all year long priority, if you ask me. But since Christmas time is a particularly propitious moment to give for many people, I just had to send this out…

Sharing is caring, right?

I love Cyranny and her ability to create a community here in the blogosphere. I agree with her and I have a couple of fellow bloggers that I am going to support as soon as I have an income again. For now my support is sharing their posts, blogs, books etc. If you have the ability, please help these lovely bloggers and make a change in their lives. Thank you very much!

    1. Thank you for the kind words, Candice 🙂 It is inspiring to see you work so hard on A Chick Click, and I hope you succeed! Talking about that, when you have a minute, email me your adress through my contact page. I have some things for you that I collected in Montréal, New-York, Paris, and possibly some things I could share from Denmark aswell… I’ll have a short vacation at the end of the month, so I should be able to wrap everything up and send it to you, if you are still interested 😉

      *Big hugs*
