First, here are the rules
1 Thank the person who nominated you.
2 Share one of your favorite song/lyrics one at a time for three days.
3 Nominate three other bloggers each day. As a Suze-follower, I am allowed to bend rules!
So, first of all, thank you again for thinking about me for this challenge, dear Lydia! If you haven’t heard about this lovely lady, I warmly recommend a visit to her blog, Being Lydia. It was a surprise to know that you enjoy Leonard Cohen’s work as much as I do. I hope you liked my participation to the challenge 🙂
(Ok, that’s it for point 1)

To me, Leonard Cohen’s music is a gift to humanity. A romantic, yet realistic view of the world. He really wanted to make a difference, and to unite people… I doubt he really believed he could. I do, and I think it reflects in the way people interpret the master’s songs. There is a heartfelt respect in most of the covers I have heard. For this last post, I’ve chosen two interpretations of a song dear to me, If it be your will. Both totally work for me, and I hope you’ll enjoy them too.
First is the performance of Antony. (from the Leonard Cohen documentary, I’m your man) To me, it even tops Cohen’s interpretation… Sorry Len!
Then with the Webb Sisters, who give the song a heavenly feminin touch to it…
And, of course… The Master’s take on it.
That I speak no more
And my voice be still
As it was before
I will speak no more
I shall abide until
I am spoken for
If it be your will
If it be your will
That a voice be true
From this broken hill
I will sing to you
From this broken hill
All your praises they shall ring
If it be your will
To let me sing
All your praises they shall ring
If it be your will
To let me sing
If there is a choice
Let the rivers fill
Let the hills rejoice
Let your mercy spill
On all these burning hearts in hell
If it be your will
To make us well
And bind us tight
All your children here
In their rags of light
In our rags of light
All dressed to kill
And end this night
If it be your will
That covers point 2. Well, another challenge complete… Hope you’ve enjoyed the ride!

This is awesome! I have loved this song but had never heard anyone else sing it. I don’t know which of the three ( like best).
