I am not much into sequels…

In fact, I am fairly against sequels… Except for Star Wars, but then again, I didn’t really like episodes 1 and 2, so even Star Wars producers should be careful with sequels… Just to be clear, I am talking about the 1999 and 2002 episodes, not Star Wars and The Empire Strikes Back.

I had to come back to the Hans Island story. I might have taken the subject a little too lightly after all. Not that the debate over who should “own” Hans Island is particularly hot these days (the latest serious news I found online seem to be from 2005…), but before the holiday break, I had a conversation about it with my Danish tutor.

I realized there were a lot more issues on the table. And since even the United Nations don’t have the authority to rule out who should get the tiny piece of land, Denmark and Canada have to negotiate. Seing how long the negotiations have taken to this day, I can only guess neither nations have the slightest intention to give up. Or that both have far more urgent matters to take care of.

I didn’t mean to make fun of a serious matter.I know it is important for some people. The odds of these people reading my blog are pretty close to none, but just in case, I felt I should write this post.

But I maintain that the alcohol exchange is still pretty funny! It should teach us all a lesson; when you don’t find the solution to a problem, make something funny out of it!
