These words from renowned chef, Marco Pierre White, would probably resonate with Torbjørn C. Pedersen. And why is that, you might wonder?
Well, the 44 years old Dane just completed quite an accomplishment, by visiting every country in the world, without ever taking a plane. For about a decade, he travelled by bus, train or boat, going from country to country without ever returning home in the meanwhile.
When Chéri sent me the link to the article about Torbjørn’s (also known as Thor) journey, I was in awe. Talk about sticking to your dream no matter what!
Compared to checking every country off Thor’s bucketlist, my wildest dreams suddenly seem pretty beige, if you ask me. Not that they are any less exciting (at least to me), but it really makes me wonder what’s keeping me from going for them.
Nothing I’ve ever planned required ten years of my life. Quite honestly, give me a couple of months off from work, and I’ll be ready to die a happy girl. And Thor’s dedication to fulfill his dream just gave me the best reason to go for mine (Chéri might feel sorry about sending me that link anytime soon – please don’t tell him just yet).
I just have to decide what I want to do first.
But when my mind is set, I’ll blame Torbjørn for it, and that’s a promise.

As you can see, I selected an article I read earlier today about Thor Pedersen’s having achieved a decade’s long objective recently as my uninteresting story in order to respond to today’s WordPress Daily Prompt.
I have to admit that I was impressed by Thor’s perseverance and I’m glad he achieved his goal, but had it not been for this prompt, I would have likely skipped over this article entirely due to lack interest.

OMG…. Thank you for the (very late) giggles, Fandango 🙂 How could I ever hold a grudge for such a ridiculous reason? It is just natural that any piece of news will raise some people’s interrest, while it will just fall flat for others. But the fact that we expressed such opposite reactions in such a short period of time really, REALLY makes me laugh! No hard feelings, I promise 😉
