I wouldn’t say marked my life, but when shopping with my daughter in Walmart, quite a few years ago, I was looking for a new wheelchair and I came upon this man who seem to be stuck in his too and probably his daughter was pushing him and we happen to stop at the same place. I asked him how he liked that wheelchair because I was looking for a new one myself. He didn’t have too much to say, but he took my hand and kissed it like they used to do in the old days and I was so taken by surprise I was dumbfounded for a second and that’s not me. I usually have a quick retort ready at all times, so it was funny, but it was memorable because I thought how sweet that was.
Oh Cheryl… I LOOOOOOVE that story. We have a word for that in French, but I ignore if you have an equivalent in English, ”Galanterie”. Galantery, maybe?? If that stays alive, it means that there is hope for humanity, if you ask me. I know, that’s the romantic side of me speaking…. But I just like it 😉
