I sometimes wonder
As my soul is sore,
What’d still would be
If I’d be no more…
The moon’d still moon
And
The sun’d still sun,
Day would run to its end
And another would come.
Snow would still fall
And wind would still blow,
Drying the last remains
Of this lingering sorrow…
Would doves still coo,
Lullabies get hummed…
As my exhausted body
So slowly’d get numb?
I’d blow one last kiss,
Aiming for your lips.
Hoping you’d not let drift
My memory to the abyss…
The moon’d still moon
And
The sun’d still sun,
Day would run to its end
And another would come.
And people would miss you because their life wouldn’t be the same.

Awww thank you, Venus 🙂 Isn’t it weird how, at the same time, each and everyone of us makes a difference in the lives of the people around us, yet on the world scale, we’re just like ants?

True. But we are all put on this Earth for a reason, I believe. I keep thinking of the movie ‘Its A Wonderful Life ‘. Who knows how many people I actually helped just by giving them a bag of food and supplies, etc..

Such a moving poem. I don’t know why, but my mind has suddenly jumped to singing that song from Les Mis, you know the one Eponine sings…”without me this world will go on turning”…it has tears streaming down my face every time. And sometimes those tears are the miracle I need.

Thank you, Caramel 🙂 I’ve done a little research with the information you gave about the song, but I can’t seem to find it… Could you give me more details, please? Because I’d really really like to listen to it!
I agree, sometimes, the only cure to a bad day is a good dose of soothing tears, especially song-induced 😉 I have a fair share of songs that make me cry on demand LOL

It is a tear-jerker, but nobody sings it quite like Lea Salonga. 1:40 the moving verses kick in:
There is also a video from the film they released:
I have to start work, but I will look for the lyrics later.

Thank you, Alice 🙂 I think that my holiday vacation is starting to pay off… I’ve been sleeping and potato couching A LOT the past couple of days, and inspiration came striking at long last… I am really glad it spoke to you!
P.S. I hope you had a most lovely Christmas with the grand-kids 🙂 xx

If you can’t look at me
Can I still see your eyes?
Could there still be sunshine
Or stars in the skies?
If your tears never fell
Would the rivers still flow?
If you ceased breathing out
Would the winds cease to blow?
If your heart didn’t beat
If your world didn’t turn
If you eyes didn’t shine
If your sun didn’t burn
No vast fields of green
No oceans of blue
There’s no life without sunshine
There’s no life without you

Oh, Brutus…. You made my day!
I so missed your poetic replies, though I know I have only myself to blame for not having one for soooo long. I hope people reading both our takes on the subject agree that your style surpasses mine.
This is going to my ”Backstreet to Richmond Road” page tomorrow, first thing!
Thank you for making me tear up. I needed that. xx

My ‘style’??? Ha ha! My style surpasses no one’s, and everybody knows that.
But thank you.
