Not the general area where I live, but in the city there are a lot of them. I live outside the city though, and we don’t have many homeless in the area!
I envy you, Carol Anne… It is hard to see people that need to beg to survive, everytime we leave home. They don’t ”disturb” me, I just feel sorry I can’t help all of them.
Small communities do tend to help the less advantaged, in general. I’m not surprised that you don’t have a lot of homeless people (if any) in Tofino. Which makes your little corner of the world a little heaven on Earth, Wayne. And I can’t wait to visit it 🙂
My city has one of the highest rates of homelessness per capita in the US, and a couple days ago I became one of them. There are so many camps with tents and RVs. Every nonprofit and city-run resource is pretty much swamped.
Hey there Fern… Thank you for your comment. As you probably know, I’m now following your blog, because your story really interests me. I am very sensible to the subject of homeless people, because I believe that any one of us could end up without a roof over our heads anytime in our lives… I hope your story will help me understand your new everyday life. I hope it will help me help some of the homeless people here in Montréal in a respectful way. And I hope, in some way, I can help you in any way too 😉 Take good care xx
