Bon voyage, Melanie…

.

You might have read about it, because many other bloggers have already reported the sad, sad news.

Last night we have lost an important member of the Bloggosphere. Melanie, from Sparks From a Combustible Mind, passed away, leaving behind her many many friends from our little community.

I have known Melanie for years, and she has been present during my blogging journey pretty much since its beginning. She participated to many of our Skypy Friday chats, and was a co-host for the Word of the Day Challenge for the last two years.

I knew she had health issues, but was still shocked to get the sad news this morning. Melanie was a super prolific blogger, and an amazing lady. You can leave a message directly to her, in the comment section of her last post.

Melanie, may you now rest in peace… Your big heart and strong opinions will be missed!

  1. I didn’t have the pleasure of knowing her but (((HUGS))) to you and the other friends of hers on here. The one part I dread about blogging, losing friends on here who you may have never met in person, but you met with your heart and created a bond. ❤

    1. Thank you for your kind words, Joy.
I totally relate to what you said… When I became part of this big blogging family, I didn’t realize how attached I’d get to so many lovely people. And the bond definately is there. There’s nothing ”cyber” about it.
      *Big hugs right back*

    1. I understand you, Kim. Life is life, and I know that many of us don’t have enough hours in a day to manage keeping track of everything going on.
I’m glad you had the chance to know Melanie, and you are right, she will be missed very much!

      1. Have no guilty feeling, Kim. The way I see it, is that we all are off from time to time, and that’s why our community is so important. When you (or me) are too busy with real life, others are there to let us know what’s going on. The fact that her passing makes you sad is enough to prove that you cared about her. For most of us, blogging is a hobby, and we can’t be blamed for not keeping track of everybody we like 😉
