We were really pushed to to have our lives planned out from career to marriage to kids etc. Now I keep telling T to slow down a bit. Be a kid a little longer you will have enough responsibilities soon enough
Wow, I really admire that you succeeded despite your test anxiety. What an achievement!! As for the popular thing… Having been on the unpopular side for a long long time, I’m glad for you you weren’t part of our ”gang” 😉
Same here, good Sir… I was ok with basic math, but when it got more complicated in college (I remember another student asking the teacher what we would use what we were learning for, the answer to that being ”to build planes”, which I had no intention to do). It was my first (and only) major failure during my learning path. I even called my dad, on the morning of my final exam, to ask him if he’d still loved me if I didn’t pass that class…. Pathetic now, if you ask me, but back then, I was devastated.
I have always loved school and learning. I was a straight A student, but I still managed to live a full life and do many other things besides study as well. 🙂
Awww, if I was the jealous type, I’d be super jealous. I too was a straight A, school loving kid (I once got a 21 out of 20 score on a test, because of how thorough I was, and that was from a teacher that didn’t like me). But my social life totally sucked.
I was a mediocre student, not due to lack of intelligence, but because I hated school with a passion. I ended up graduating a year early (by taking extra courses each semester and going to summer school) because I couldn’t wait to get out of there. Those were three of the darkest years of my life.

I just wanted to get through and get done. I could have been better had I applied myself.

I think that a lot of us had that feeling of rush back then… I was eager to move to the next step too, but I did enjoy learning on my way through 😉

I had Test Anxiety and flunked almost every test but I got by on Homework and Extra Credit. I wasn’t popular or unpopular, sort of in the middle.
