Kinsey Millhone or Thomas Black. Both fictional detectives. Kinsey has passed away as her writer, Sue Grafton, died. I’m not sure about Earl Emerson though…that series is fabulous. I get the sense that both would be fascinating to actually have a conversation with. And Kinsey is a cheap ‘date’ as it were. Favorite food QP with cheese. Hehe.
Dorothea from “Middlemarch” or Anne Elliot from “Persuasion” – because these two female characters have made me think that I would want to be their friend.
But if I was feeling romantic, I would like to have dinner with Lott from “Unbound Romance” because the way he creates a romantic scene is off the scale!

Mr. Mulliner (P. G. Wodehouse), because he tells the most entertaining stories.
