Walk on the beach… (Late April 8th FFF)

I was invited (well, not personally, but still…) to join the Fandango’s Friday Flashback!

Fandango scrolls back, every Friday, and gives a second chance to a post he had published on the same date, years before. I thought it was a great way to remember some of the stuff I did a while back, and I decided to participate…

So here it is!

Written on April 8th of 2017, here is a short piece of fiction about Life and wisdom.  I hope you’ll enjoy it (again), and I wish you’re safe and well, wherever you are…

The years passed by, and she slowly grew older. A day at a time, knowing she’d never tame time, but learning to see it as a twisted ally and not an enemy.

Walking along the shore, he chanced to ask her…

– Where did you find wisdom?

She paused. For a moment, he thought she was ignoring his question, standing there silent, smiling at the sea. When she turned to him, he couldn’t tell if it were the sun rays that made her eyes sparkle, or if her gaze reflected on the waters…

– I didn’t. I have no key to wisdom. I just learned that healing is not about waiting for scars to fade out, but to embrace them as souvenirs of battles won.

She stretched a hand for him to take, and started walking on the sand again. Leading the way for the two of them…
