The lyrics from some songs just stick because they have something so clever about them. I often sing to myself the words from Sleeper’s “What Do I Do Now?” Probably my favourite lines are:
Tore up all your photos, didn’t feel too clever
Spent the whole of Sunday sticking you together
I love the lyrics to Birdy’s “Wings”, including:
Under a trillion stars
We danced on top of cars
I love these lyrics because I have been there, I have those exact memories and I just love that a songwriter wove them into a sensational song. Love it love it love it!!!
“Did they get you to trade
Your heroes for ghosts?
Hot ashes for trees?
Hot air for a cool breeze?
Cold comfort for change?
Did you exchange
A walk-on part in the war
For a leading role in a cage?”. – Wish you were here by Pink Floyd
Its not only rainbows and butterflies, its compramise…
from maroon five’s song she will be loved!
