Saudi Arabia – My father accepted a job there when I was 16 years old. (1974) Moved the entire family … I got to go to boarding school in Baharain and loved it. (Pre-war devastation) Once conflict started, we had to move back. I vividly remember hearing machine gun fire at night and explosions occasionally.
Paris. In 1973 my school started a study-abroad program for French students (that’s students learning French, not students who happen to be French). I got to be part of the pilot program.
I couldn’t say. I’ve been all over the world. Literally, the opposite side of the globe from where I am. But there are multiple countries there, and I’ve been to most of them, so many are within several hundred miles from each other. So I don’t know. Plane ride duration doesn’t count either. Sometimes you get diverted for a while, so I’m not even sure anymore. Strange how the human mind works
