Are we talking literal or metaphoric? I think it is very important to have some sort of sanctuary to rest and recover from the assault of small daily challenges we face – most of us have that at home. A place to switch off, relax. Sadly some people are not able to relax at home, and have to find another source of escape and relief.
When I think of the term “comfort zone”, I think of how sometimes change is hard to accept, because we feel safe in the familiar routine. I think it is probably important for us not to become inflexible. Learning to accept change, adapt, grow, learn…they are all important.
Sometimes we are not in a good place perhaps particularly struggling due to some trauma, and we cling to our comfort zone, feeling we cannot take on any new challenges. But hopefully, eventually we will grow stronger and be able to grow.

Comfort zone??? That is a place I have not, in my lifetime , allowed myself to remain for any length of time.
