My first ever shopping trip at the age of 14 was to Manchester City Centre on Saturday 15th June 1996.
I had £100 which seemed like a lot of money. I bought some tops in Top Shop and River Island. I had run out of money by around 9:30am. Do you know what happened next?

A set of Venetian wine and water glasses. They are red. I was 21 and I still have them.

Probably cigarettes. Yeah …. I know what you’re all thinking, but it was significant at the time.

27 inch color tv. Meant I no longer had to share with my parents,made me so happy.
