Have you ever called the emergency services (police, ambulance, firemen…) for something happening in your neighbourhood?

  1. Yes, I heard a man and woman screaming, and then he yelled he was going to kill her. I called and it turned out to be a teenager arguing with his mom. The police said i did the right thing to call, but i was sort of embarrassed…

  2. Yes. Not counting for my mom or for my jobs, I’d say I’ve probably called them MAYBE a dozen times in my life. Once, the car in front of me was SOO dangerous I was certain they were drunk. I called because of that. I saw someone drive straight into a light pole, and I called for that as I ran over. Once, I was driving home from work and it was late – and there was an office building and at least four fire alarms were going off. They ended up calling me back and told me that there wasn’t a fire – there was a power outage and the company didn’t have their fire alarm connected to the generator per codes…. oops. There was only once in my entire life that I called emergency by mistake. I was walking out to my car to go to work – must be over a decade ago now – and I hit a patch of ice, first with my foot then my behind. My phone was in my pocket. Apparently, it decided that me falling on my butt was just as dangerous as me falling out of a 30000 story building and it called emergency. I didn’t know, I was too busy falling back down every time I got my feet anywhere near under me. They were actually down the street and came lights a blazing to lift me off my butt. I do not get embarrassed but that was almost embarrassing. But one of the responders was SUPER cute, so I just came away with a great story that my ex loved LOL. I was in a few fender benders and emergency had to be called because otherwise litigation never ends. There are a few others, but nothing that stands out.
