If the decision were to made today, the two passes would go to my wife and daughter. If my family were larger though the decision would become MUCH more difficult to make.

I couldn’t save 2 of my kids and not the other 2 and I couldn’t live without any of them so I would give them to someone else. No one really comes to mind I would give them to.

Don’t make me decide! I’ve got 4 that I’d choose from. As the 5th, I wouldn’t be going on. I’d imagine my wife would veto herself too. So, i have 3 boys and only 2 passes? Impossible for me to choose.

Your questions today (or that I’m finding today) are all making me think of the original Twilight Zone. This one reminds me of the episode where you are proffered a button, and if you press it, you will be rewarded and something horrible will happen to someone you have never known and will never know. If you chose not to press it, the bad thing will happen to you. I could never decide if I’d push it. A lot of bad has happened to me already, to I just accept there will be more, or do I feel selfish? And if I push it and am rewarded, what’s to say that the person that was affected (who doesn’t know me and will never know me) isn’t the very next one to get the same offer, thus making it so that horror may befall me anyway? And if I don’t push it and receive the bad, what’s to stop that monster from offering the button to that same person and them pushing it and me getting more bad? Oh…. I hate that quandary! But this is not your question lol
I would like to say I would give the two passes away to two younger people who can reproduce, and hopefully are smart enough to understand basic survival skills. But to effectively pull that off you would have to find two people who are both of child bearing years, willing to reproduce with each other, and have not already – for they will not chose to outlive their existing children. But how do you know for a fact that they are individually fertile and would be fertile with each other? Seems kind of intrusive, “excuse me, do you think he’s cute? How bout you, you think she’s cute? Please follow me so I can count your sperm and your eggs so that you two can carry on the human race. Nope, questions to a minimum please, I’m trying to save a species!” Not to mention there’s the whole recessive gene issues, and trying to use eugenics to guarantee success.
I also learned from Twilight Zone that something that sounds really good that you sign yourself up for, probably isn’t as good as you think it is. It’s not martians coming to serve humanity to make it better, it’s just cook book. Take man, add a pinch of salt, eat. Nope. I have no idea. Above my pay grade.
