  1. Sorry, didn’t see the second half of the question until after I pushed “send”. 😐 Yes I think a proper ‘soul mate’ is one individual. That’s why they are so rare. Most people settle for ‘good enough’ or ‘close enough’ and don’t keep searching for that one. I don’t know how many billions of people there are on this planet now, but the sheer magnitude makes finding your true soul mate all the more difficult.

  2. Yes, I do believe in soul mates. Mine was my husband. Yeah, we may have gotten divorced, but we were still one anothers best friend.
When he died, and many years afterwards I tried dating again…No one met the standards of him.
I think I am meant to be alone until I pass. Because I feel he was the only one for me, and no one could ever take his place.

  3. I don;t think there is just one soul mate for life. At various stages of life we resonate with different people. If I had met my husband when I was 20 we would not even have got into any sort of relationship. But we met in our 30s and have been together for 35 years. He is a soul mate now but would not have been when I was younger.

  4. Nope…although, it is a romantic thought.
it’s up to two individuals to invest in their relationship, establish wonderful communication, love each other’s fine qualities, forgive each other’s imperfections and cultivate trust, love and respect – and then it can feel as if you are soul mates.

We all have free will and choosing to love someone making them are kindred heart is something lovely.

  5. I sure do. At least, it feels that way to me. I believe everyone meets that person at some point. Unfortunately, it’s not always admitted/accepted/followed through with, etc, so some matches never get fully connected.

  6. I suppose I’m inclined to believe in Providence 😉 however, this could still mean some of us have more than one love/teacher/muse/person of interest required to cross our paths for the sake of fulfilling all those prophecies we cannot fully know…yet.

  7. Oh my gosh!! This is so ironic- my friend and I just had this discussion last night. I used to not think so, but as I’ve gotten older I’ve seen so many couples close to me that I truly can’t imagine them without one other- they are just perfect for each other! And I cannot imagine anyone but DJ – everything about our personalities and perspectives etc. just aligns in almost an uncanny way- so I will lean yes for soulmates : )
